One year anniversary...

Happy one year anniversary to me! It was one year ago today that I was in the car accident that changed my life {not to sound dramatic and all}!
As many know, I was on my way home from work at night and I went to turn left at the light and a car sped over a hill and ran a red light hitting me practically head on. Luckily everyone was ok and people had stopped to help including a very nice lady who happened to be a nurse. She assessed my leg and from what she could tell it was definitely broken which explains the amount of pain I was in and the swelling of my leg. My parents were notified and the ambulance showed up. They had to take off both doors of my side of the car in order to get me out and not injure my leg anymore. Then it was a speedy ride to the hospital where I was prepped for surgery to insert a titanium rod through my femur {which had been broken straight across}. Then it was into recovery and a hospital bed until Christmas Eve. I would have been out sooner but something with my blood level was down and had to a have a blood transfusion to get it stable again. So that’s basically it in a nutshell!
Honestly I’m so grateful for what happened to me and what I had to go through. It was a trial but it ended up being the best thing that could have happened to me. When I think back to that night in the car, I was fully conscious for everything. Both airbags deployed and white smoke was everywhere but I know that someone was watching out for me. I didn’t even hit the airbag. Something was protecting me…. I am so grateful for all the love and support that I was shown. It was so thoughtful of everyone and people that would call or stop by to check on me. I realized how important family really is to me and that I wanted to spend more time with them no matter what. I realized what goals I wanted to work towards and how I could accomplish them. I realized how much people really care about me and wanted to make sure I was ok. I realized how important the gospel is in my life and that I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. I even managed to hobble my way to the temple to do baptisms one day. I realized that because of the way I was living my life, Heavenly Father sent his angels to protect me. I also realized that through this unusual accident, events were put in place that led me to meet my amazing husband and how grateful I am for that!!!!:)
I don’t plan to get in any more accidents soon though! With a lot of physical therapy I’m back to normal, aside from the neck pain I deal with! Aust and I even played on a coed soccer team earlier in the fall! I am very grateful for this blessing in disguise! But I’ll try and stay out of the hospital next time!

The Forgotten Carols

So I’m officially in LOVE with the forgotten carols play! I went once before a few years ago and when I saw that it was going to be at UVU, I immediately bought tickets {they were pretty cheap too}! We invited Austin’s mom and my parents and it was fabulous!!
The songs are just unbelievably good! The actors did an amazing job as well as Michael McLean! It was their 20th anniversary of the production and I’m so glad that we were able to go! I feel like this time I really paid attention and listened to the spirit that was there because it was unreal! I felt like it really got me into the Christmas spirit and how I really want to focus on Christ and the spirit of giving because that is what it is truly about. I never noticed how focused the forgotten carols are on the Savior. I guess I had never paid much attention the first time I went. But I’m so grateful of the spirit I felt there last night! I felt so close to the Lord and I think everyone there last night felt it tooJ! After the play ended, Michael McLean came out and talked for a little bit and played some songs and we all sang Silent Night as he exited the stage. It was beautiful!
I made Austin promise me that for a new Christmas tradition for us {and future family when that happens} that we will go every year that it is playingJ!!!
Oh and we put up our Christmas tree!

Thanksgiving!

Wow! What an amazing Thanksgiving! First major holiday with my husband and it was so funJ which also included trying to squeeze two families in! Luckily the timing worked out perfectly. We spent the morning at my mom’s house and had thanksgiving dinner with the whole extended family at noon there and then it was off to have dinner at his sisters house with his whole family! We spent the rest of the day there playing some intense games of mafia and some charades game!!
Then it was time to go experience our first black Friday experience….. NEVER AGAIN! We waited in line at target for an hour and a half and came away with a Christmas tree for $30 and a vacuum for $20 which were way good deals but we didn’t get the tv we wantedL but it definitely was NOT worth the wait, the cold, the standing in line forever [as you can tell I thought it was no fun] … I’ll stick to sleeping instead and finding deals online! I’m not a big crowd person! But at least I got to do it with Aust!
Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday! The food is amazing and I just love the atmosphere and the family time we get to spend! I am also so thankful that I was able to be with Austin he seriously is the best! I wouldn’t be able to live without him! I truly appreciate everything that he does for us and for me and I’m so grateful that I get to be with him for eternity<3 it’s the best feeling in the whole world! I’m so thankful for my family, I love them so much! I’m also thankful for the acceptance I feel being a part of Austin’s family! I’m so grateful for this amazing gospel and what a blessing it has been to my life! I love being able to go to the temple and feel my savior’s love for me! I’m so grateful for the friends I have and the people that I have in my life! I’m thankful for my new job that I love so much and the girls I work with there! And also that I’m so close to being done with school! I just love life right now I couldn’t ask for more!!
Now I suppose I’ll get ready for Christmas…..

Eternity can now begin! (:

Soooooo.... Austin and I were married in the Salt Lake temple on September 13th, 2011! We haven't received our pictures from that day but as soon as we do I'll be sure to post some! Basically it was the most amazing and special day of my entire life and I'm so grateful that Austin and I were able to spend that together! He is more than I could have ever asked for!

The temple was such an awesome experience! It's what I've been waiting my whole life for... and it couldn't have been more perfect! I really do have the best husband on earth<3!
Thank you to everyone who came to support us!
